An Icelandic Knitting & Weaving Adventure

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iceland, an underpopulated island marooned near the top of the globe.
The power of Icelandic nature [can] turn the prosaic into the extraordinary.
Here you'll find some of the world's highest concentrations of dreamers,
authors, artists and musicians, all fueled by their surrounds.
We invite you to explore one of the most dramatic natural landscapes on earth. There is no more breathtaking backdrop for a knitting and weaving adventure than the wilds of Western Iceland where nature reigns supreme. This region is a virtual microcosm of all Iceland has to offer. Its spectacular fjords, glaciers, valleys, volcanoes and mountains are quite literally straight out of Game of Thrones. The dramatic landscape was the setting for many of Iceland's Viking sagas. Knitting has been iconic here for centuries, and weaving was Iceland's main export until the 17th century. We will explore both arts along with natural dyeing with a local botanist and master dyer, have the chance to learn about Icelandic wool at a goat farm, knitting and/or weaving workshops and more. This will be our third time to Iceland, and we keep discovering more treasures. We just can't stay away!
